About this event
The University of Manchester will be taking part in Venture Crawl 2021
A full day tour around Manchester visiting some of the city’s most innovative hot spots sounds exciting, right?
Set-up in 2017 by London Universities, the Venture Crawl has since grown to an annual event with 3 countries, 16 universities, 10 buses and 400 students participating in 2020, with events taking place in Birmingham, Chicago, Melbourne and Manchester!
This unique, one-day event is aimed at entrepreneurial-minded students to explore and be inspired by Manchester’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. This event is designed to give you the chance to connect to real-world businesses, develop your skills, confidence and creative-thinking, as well as establish useful connections and networks.
Whilst we can't jump aboard the Venture Crawl bus this year, we've collaborated with other Universities and we're working hard to re-create the experience digitally for you to connect with the UK’s most exciting start-ups, venture capital firms and enterprise hubs to learn about start-up journeys, social enterprise and impact, sustainability and more! The route's still being plotted, but you can expect to hear from big names such as Ben Francis (GymShark founder), Rolls-Royce, Mercarto Metropolitano, and Octopus Ventures.
The 2021 (virtual) Venture Crawl bus departs at 9am on Wednesday, 10 March and will feature insightful and engaging content to develop your skills and broaden your knowledge. There will also be opportunities for networking with other like-minded students.
Once registered, the live event times will be sent to you along with your boarding pass, and you'll have the rest of the day to explore the other stops at your own pace.
This registration link is for current UoM students only, who have an interest in start-ups and entrepreneurship.
We have a calendar bursting with a variety of entrepreneurial events, development programmes and competitions throughout the academic year, available to a range of audiences across the university; whether you're just curious about entrepreneurship, interested in starting your own business, or wanting to refresh your knowledge and skill-set; be sure to have a browse and get involved.
